I have Flyer (Mk I sn 75, 1971) and I want to move the traveler forward as they are were mounted in 1975 ++. I know this has been done, but this area appears to be hollow, ie a space between outer deck layer and inner liner).  Any experience with this move?

Just installed a 37 litre Mobicool electric cooler from CanTire.  Sits on the settee in port and on the floor underway.  Runs on 12 volts from a repurposed computer power supply and keeps food, wine and beer cold.  a low cost ($117) solution.  Can switch to battery operation bud it draws 6 amps.   Have also seen a bar fridge installed where the icebox was.  This solution a;so freed up counter space.C&C27 Flyer

Flyer is sn 75 built in 1971.

Is it a Hinterholler build?

I have teak galley, salon trim, mast bulkhead, head cabinet  and locker wall.  Do you have more teak?

#5 Re: General discussion » windows » 2013-06-24 07:39:32

Just did one window on Flyer (Mk I sn 75).  The seal was a vertical, flat, rubber<img src="emoticons/icon_question.gif"> gasket which was attached to the frame and pressed against the window itself.  I applied DAP Removable Weatherstrip Sealant (Home Depot for about $5 per tube) to the gasket and pressed the window into place. I then pushed the grey, external strip into place. It held the window in place until the sealant set, but is not part of the water seal. I have used the removable sealant for home windows for years and found it to be an excellent product.  It stays pliable and can be peeled off if required.C&C27 Flyer
