Hello,

I read the black arts on rigging;

"The next issue is to get the mast centered in the boat (side to side). I add a spare sail slide in the mast track (put it on before you feed the slides for your main so it sits above the other slides), then I use the main halyard to hoist the slide, with a tape measure attached, up to the top of the mast."

What "slide" is the author referring to in this text?

Thank you for the replies.

What brand oil do you recommend for the change?

Hi,

I have a 1984 MKV.

How do you tune the mast?

I have heard of hanging a bucket of water off the main halyard and measuring back toward the mast.  And then there are some hand held apparatuses that very accurately measure the stay tension with what look like fish weigh scales attached.

Hi,

I have a 1984 MKV.

I have experience working on cars and automobile engines.

How do you change the oil on the single Yanmar?
How on earth do you get an oil pan full of oil out from under the engine?

Hi,

I sent a letter 8 weeks ago to the C&C Association to request membership.  How long does it "normally" take for a reply?

Regardless to if and when I might need an emergency tiller.  Can someone please post a picture of one?  Dimensions would be nice too.

Thank you,
Hunter

Hello, I recently purchased a 1984 C&C 27 MKV. During the inspection it was noted that there was no emergency tiller on board the boat. I asked the previous owner who was also the original owner and he told me he never had one.

1- can you tell me where I could get one in Canada.

2- If I can't get one can someone take a picture of one and post the picture and dimensions so I can get one made.

Thank you,
Hunter
