The end attachment of my 3" thick, 11.75' long spinnaker pole broke last week. If anyone has a spare attachment from a broken or unused pole, I'll be interested in buying it. Thanks

Sorry Mark I did not see your response, usually the site notify me when I get a message but it didn't this time!!!
The sail I have has a luff of 35.3 feet, so it will fit your boat (I,35.6). However, because the J in MK 5 (10.1) is shorter than the 11.75 in MK 3, the sail I have will be a 126%, which is some where between a # 3 (100%) and # 2 (135%).
The sail has #6 tape, made by UK, Mylar enforced with carbon tapes. The sail is generally in good condition, however, there is a small tear near the luff that I fixed with tape. The sail has a single-sided taffeta in white for added toughness. If you think the sail can be useful to you drop me a line at moefahmy at gmail dot com.
Thanks, and sorry again for the delay in responding to you.

Cockpit cushions practically new, custom made for MK 2 but can also fit MK 3 or 4. The cushions are made with Royal blue Sunbrella fabric with yellow spleen and yellow strip in the middle. Thick solid high quality foam was used. Each side is two pieces connected with Velcro. I ordered these cushions when I had a Mk 2 at the cost of $500, but since my new Mk 3 came with cockpit cushions I have these for sale. My asking price is $ 350 firm. I have pictures that I can send if contacted at: moefahmy at gmail dot com.

#11 Re: General discussion » Mk V Looking for Spinnaker & Pole » 2014-03-28 08:05:41

Hi Ron
I found a spinnaker that measures 35.8 x 20.6 it is a triradial made by North, .75 oz , blue and white rated as good. The price is 387 US dollars. If they ship it to ottawa they would not charge taxes but you'll have to add the shipping cost. If you are interested I can drive to st Petersburg and examine it. I already bought several sails from them and know that when they rate the sail as good, it is really good. Let me know.

Oh, you are a week too late, yes Martin picked up the sail this week. I shall keep an eye on spinnaker that fits your boat while in Florida, they have good sails but often the sizes and conditions are not suitable. If I find something interesting I'll let you know or refer you to the site itself. Sorry for the disappointment.
Cheers.

Hi Martin
Unfortunately I am in Florida till may 13, but my son who is in Ottawa may be able to show it to you if you manage to drive back passing by Ottawa. If not then I may be able to send the sail to Toronto with friends and have it there with my sister who lives in north York. If you'll manage to come to Ottawa let me know so I can have my son look for the sail.
Cheers

Thanks for your message Martin. I still have one spinnaker, the one that measures 35.3 x 20.7. It is red blue and white and in very good conditions, no cuts, no bleed and clean. I paid 460 US dollars for it plus 7% Florida sales tax. I believe that 370 US dollars is a fair price since I really did not use it that much.
I live in Ottawa but we can arrange to have you see the sail sometime in the spring.
Cheers.

Have you found your spinnaker yet? If not, I have a nice spinnaker that fits your boat, luff 34.10 and girth 21.5. I also have another that measures 35.3 x 20.7 also in great condition but this one may be a little longer than your class rules. The two Spinnakers are in great shape but are short for my MK 3 boat.
Let me know if you are interested, I can send you a photo.

PS I tried to email you but the message was returned by Roger's stating that you don't have an email address with them.!!

#16 Re: General discussion » What version boat do I have? » 2011-06-05 12:16:34

Try FX sails in North Carolina, you can get a quote on line . The new main for 27 is less than 1000 dollars, may be less if your boat is 25. I and 3 of my friends bought mains from them and we're all very satisfied.

I have a MK 2 number 2 (135%) racing genoa for sale. Sale maker is Doyle, tri-radial cut, Dacron with # 6 tape. I paid 2100 dollars for it 5 years ago and used it no more than 25 times. So it is clean, crispy and in great shape. I am selling this sail because I bought a MK 3 boat and this sail is larger than MK3 #2 by 5%, shorter and wider at the foot.

The selling price is 500 dollars, less than one fourth of what I paid.

#22 Re: General discussion » Sail number » 2009-10-12 03:16:35

This number is surely not your PHRF rating. I believe that the numbers were assigned by the manufacturer when they sold the boats to their first owners. I previously had a MK 2 with the number 24054 and 2 friend have Mk 2 with the numbers 24109 and 24156. Mk 3 boats has numbers starting with 34xxx, 44xxx and 54xxx, while Mk 4 with numbers starting with 64xxx and 74xxx. Many sailors change their sail numbers to correspond to their boats' serial number. You can do that if you so wish.

Hello fellow sailors

I need to change the 4 flexible mountings of my Yanmar YSB 8 diesel engine. Would anyone kindly send me the part number of these mountings to order them. The ones I found in the Yanmar's parts list do not resemble the ones I have and are probably not for engines installed in boats. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

#24 Re: General discussion » head sail » 2009-03-21 13:50:28

Will you use this sail for racing or just cruising and do you have a foil or a furling, finally does the sail use hanks or tape and if the latter, what size? I may have a sail for you but I need to know these details first. Cheers

#25 Re: General discussion » Spinnaker measurements » 2009-02-06 15:01:05

Thank you Dean, if my calculations are correct, then the hight should be 36.88 or roughly very close to the I measurement.

When you refer to height, do you mean the centre of the sail or the luff-leech measurement? Some spinnakers extend downwards a foot or two at the centre.
