Hoping someone out there can lend some advice about how to replace the mast on my 1984 C&C 27' Mk V.  I am currently searching for a replacement mast near the North Shore/ Boston area if anyone has a lead.
Will I need to find an exact duplicate or C&C mast to ensure safety and performance? Are there any other masts from other manufacturers that would work for a C&C or will I need to also replace the mast foot, spreaders, and boom if I use a  different mast? Can a larger mast be cut to size?  I assume when I do find a suitable replacement it will be necessary to replace the standing rigging. So many questions any advice would be appreciated.

Excuse me if this topic has been discussed before but if anyone has any suggestions on how or where to secure a replacement mast for a 1984 C&C 27' Mark V  I would appreciate it. While I was out sailing Friday my mast snapped at the spreaders luckily no injuries or major damage to the boat. Not sure what will happen with my insurance or if I need an exact replacement mast. Any information about what I should do now would be appreciated. My boat is located in Salem, MA.

Happy 2022,

A couple of questions for everyone I am looking for a new mainsail for my 1984 27' C&C Mark V and considering a sail from South East Asia (S.E.A.) Sails (Thailand) Co Ltd (Rolly Trasker) and looking for general info on the service and quality of this outfit. The prices seem much more reasonable than any of the local outfits otherwise I would consider buying local.
I am also looking for any feedback or advice about if I should buy radial-cut vrs. cross-cut,  full batten or short batten mainsail. Any help would be appreciated about the pros/cons of each style sail. I do not have a lazy jack setup and I am a recreational coastal sailor and not a racer.  Thanks

Thanks for your reply I will be curious to hear how it works out for you. I am guessing but is the ladder you ordered a 3 step Garelick transom ladder?

Any update about a good stern ladder that would work for a Mark V.

Hello, I am a new member and this is the topic I am looking for <img src="emoticons/icon_smile.gif"> this site is amazing. I own a circa 1990 Raymarine 1000 auto pilot and I am looking for one simple plastic gear part I think it is called a pinion gear. I am hoping someone may have an old unit out there that they may want to sell for parts.
