MARMAC Shifter

I broke my 37 year old shift handle off in August.  This is the original MARMAC shift/throttle assembly.   Has anyone taken it apart?  I was able to get the throttle portion off but not the hub where the shift handle goes in, which still has a piece of the handle in it.  I have not found any diagrams or other info on the net showing how the shift mechanism is put together.  I wonder if there is a set screw holding the hub onto the shaft below where the shift lever goes in  (When I get the piece out I'll see.)

BTW if this happens to you, I rigged a pvc pipe from the A4 shift lever using a piece of wood u-boltedto the lever into the cabin by the steps.  Requires a second person to do the shifting but easily got me thru rest of summer.

Any advice/knowledge on getting it appart would be appreciated!

Re: MARMAC Shifter

Hey Dave,

I still have the original documentation, and scanned it for you.
Looks like you are spot on about the set screws, and hopefully the diagrams in the documentation will help you do all that needs to be done.

Full parts list (exploded view diagram):

Best of luck,
Ralph.

Ralph

THANK YOU - Exactly what I was hoping for!

Now I just have to get the piece of shifter shaft out and work on moving a 37 year old set screw!

Re: MARMAC Shifter

Dave.

If you you want a shifter assembly, I'm planning to remove mine.  The previous owner installed a wheel with shifter and throttle and left the original in place.  One of my winter projects is to refresh the instruments and while in there, take out the old shifter.  Let me know if you want it.

Greg

Thanks for the offer I'll know in a couple of weeks if I need to act on that.

Maybe what Ralph provided will help you remove it!
