Forward hatch replacement (MkV)

Anyone replace there forward hatch?
I was thinking of replacing mine with something I can open from the outside.
Any idea of cost or recommended models?

Re: Forward hatch replacement (MkV)

Hi Guest I did some research on replacing my hatch this past summer. Unfortunately I never got around to it but I did get the correct info ( I think ). My Mk5 #51 (1984) has a Bomar "Nibo" hatch and it does open from the outside. If the outside diameter of your hatch's FRAME is 21 7/8" then the model # is 2039-10A. It can be bought direct online @ www.pompanette.com/bomar for list $448 U.S. , and through West Marine at special orders for $406? U.S. (almost list). The model is too old to get replacement gaskets or parts. John Graeb - Persistence L.I. N.Y. _/) _/)
