Winter companion slide

The ideal during winter layup is a wide-open boat with all the lockers and covers open and the wind blowing through to prevent the formation of condensation. The reality is that you can't do this in any location where there is a possibility that small animals may take up residence, particularly racoons, as they make a mess and often scratch or chew woodwork.

Towser's very seedy original companion slide found a new life as a winter slide. The mesh is hardware cloth (strange name) but it might as well have been chicken wire. The mesh was recessed into the plywood, mostly so its sharp ends wouldn't scratch.
