Since launch my wind direction is inconsistant. Sometimes its fine, based on my Windex, other times its way off ie. 180'. I have reset it according to the manual but it didn't help. Any suggestions? The wind speed is fine.

Awesome thanks, can you elaborate on your refrigeration system? Possibly a link to the manf.'r of the system you installed. Thanks.

Thanks, what a great thread. One question...my mk V has the battery arrangement of one in the cockpit locker and the other in front of the fuel tank, which one is battery #1 on the selector? I thought I would put a non- deep cycle there for best start up cranking power.

Yes, both batteries, starter and house. I should mention that the boat also came with a Statpower 10hw Truecharge battery charger.

I have found that I need to charge my batteries at least once week (by running the motor) so I figure it's time to buy some new batteries. Presently I have CTC Nautilus deep cycle batteries. Question...what make of batteries do you recommend? as well, should they be identical? The batteries I currently have are 730a & 650 a 'marine crank'. Any advice?

Has anybody changed the bulbs in the Yanmar control panel behind the tach and the fuel gauge? I assume there is a water seal that would need to be broken, if so, is best to leave it intact and ignore the burnt bulbs?

Hard to tell without seeing it, but it sounds like a foreign body is jammed between the gear and throttle chrome bodies causing them to become one, or inside the storage locker something has comprimized the independent operation on your controls. Good luck with your resolve.

Hi everyone, this forum has been great in the past so I'll throw a question out there. I have a Mk V. Directly above the helmsmen's perch, above the transom, is a 3ft life line connecting the stern rails. It has a foam cover approx 1 1/2" diameter that needs replacing. Anyone found a replacement for it? Pool noodles are too big, at least the ones I have come across.
Cheers,

Out of 34 C&C27's at the club, 4 are Mk v's. I personally don't race (yet) so I don't know who races from the rest of the mk v's. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. You planning on coming to the NOD?

I've have a '85 MK V. My steaming / bow deck light doesn't light. I changed the lights while the mast was down this spring. Now that it's up they don't work. I've tried to find the fuses without much luck. Can someone tell me if they exist or where they have been located?
Cheers.

#13 Re: General discussion » mounting new head » 2012-06-03 07:22:10

Thank you very much! Rather than insetting an inset bolt in the platform it sounds like I can just lag bolt it down.( presently the head has bolts coming up through the foor with acorn nuts securing it down, not what appears to be lag bolts pinning it down)
Thanks again Barry.
Steve.

Hi there, I have a 1985 MK V and the Brydon head is kaput. I am going to mount a Jabsco head in its place. My question is: does the platform that the head sits on have plywood under the fiberglass? And can I just set the necessary inset bolts in the floor and bolt done the new head?
Cheers,
