Any testimonials?

Cheers & thanks

Hi

Any Skippers have comments on performance? Anomalies? Recommended sizes?

MKIII , Yanmar YSM 12 , 1" shaft and a leftie.

Do the folding prop vendors sell at the Boat shows? Toronto?

Also I am routinely amazed at the tip clearance, or lack there of,

by the stock fixed 2 blade 13x8.

Cheers

Hi

Any testimonials on what type of puller and techniques?

I have a fixed two blade with 1" shaft.

Can the C-Clamp style do the trick?

Much obliged.

I think your advice resembles the metaphor!

Thanks

#33 Re: General discussion » Folding Prop Installation » 2015-05-24 12:20:51

Hi David

Thanks for that.

Yes I surfed a few months ago no joy.

Your results much better.

I received the prop post launch.

Crane only shows up twice and the next time will be October.

Was pondering doing a Buster Crabb (MI6)..Doh

That is installing with long snorkel.

I don't think a wrench can wiggle in the small gap.

Loctite on the setscrews. Can that be applied while submerged?

Hi.

Picked up a Gori 2 blade and can't figure out how you would tighten it up on the shaft. The nut is housed deep inside the bore and won't slide out.

Roger that Bill

In fact I made an attempt to phone him earlier in the day.

I'll try again tomorrow.

Super of you to send sliding door pics Bill.

Now if I could find used rails (genuine C&C)!

Thanks again Bill

If any Skipper(s) has chance to pop a few snap shots (in the long term)

of what the sliding door hardware entails, I know I'd be

very much obliged.

Sure

The door would slide to port, alongside the bulkhead that is just aft of the head.

Very nice indeed.

Having the ability to douse the sail to the deck, in quick time

is my rational for not pursuing  a furler.

I do like the idea of the Facnor STG 3 or 4 (aka Mariner Roller-Stay)

My door to the head is on hinges.

Other 27's I see have it sliding.

I like the sliding setup and it looks like

a fairly easy conversion.

Any skipper feedback?

Interested as well.

Nice to be able to touch up like shoe polish.

Staying away from anything varnish-like.

#43 Re: General discussion » Folding Prop question » 2014-11-20 09:46:11

12"  x 9 with 1 inch shaft is the size of the two blade Gori.

Existing fixed 2 blade is a federal 13" x 8.

http://www.ipernity.com/doc/1125763/35981655

What does the 4 mean in the pic?

If the blades don't touch the rudder, i think the prop will work.

If I need and an inch or two, cut the shaft and re-thread?

Cheers

1979 MkIII with YanmarYSM12  (LH Screw @ 1" Shaft Dia)

Eyeballing a Gori folding prop with gears but it seems

like the blades might touch the rudder when folded.

Black Arts doesn't cover off on that combination.

Any solutions or testimonials.

Cheers * Thanks

Thanks to all who have responded thus far.
Warm fuzzy for both. Going to sail both to
decide.

Douglas your web page is a treasure chest of
Canadiana and I shall be exploring more of it
as a new found hobby. I have often wondered
if the game of hockey played a role in the way
Canadians performed in other areas of life i.e. war
Bravo to you Sir.

Hi

Any comparisons? i.e. maintenance, costs, tenderness, sailability and the ability to Race at the club? Also single hand? Shoal draft could be a bonus. Or is this apples oranges?

Thanks
