Installing Shore Power

Does anyone have any advice on installing shore power onboard?  I'm particularly interested in the location of an AC outlet in the forward half of the boat.

Spend some upfront time with information from the equipment maker or a savvy local vendor to make sure you meet American Boat & Yacht Council standards. This will save you from being hassled by your insurance company on your 5-year survey and having to re-configure the whole thing. May save you from being zapped, too.
