Secured in place

Neatly cut lengths of lumber weighted down by bags of sand hold the window in place while the bonding material sets. Choosing the weight of sand is a balancing act – you want enough weight to overcome the springiness of the plexi and to hold it firmly in place while the bonding material sets, but not so much that it squeezes the joint so tight that the bonding material is forced out.
