Devastated club

Dartmouth Yacht Club took a heavy hit from the wind and storm surge. The mean water level rose at least 2.7 metres (9 feet) above normal, and this, coupled with wind and waves, is what tore apart docks and docklines. After taking over five hours to rise to its most destructive height, the water departed quickly. A wind shift "opened the valve" and levels returned to normal in an hour and a half.
