Galley improvements I

"Aragorn originally had a pressure alcohol stove (which I converted to pressure kerosene in the interests of speed and safety) . The stove had a stainless steel lid which folded upward when the stove was in use and fixed in a position right in front of the cupboard where the dishes were stored, very effectively blocking any access to the dishes you needed to put the food on.

I did away with that lid and made a wooden insert for the stove-top and it serves as a cutting board if needed, while still allowing access to the dishes. The insert drops into the recess on the stovetop and the underside is "notched" to accommodate the burner rings. If the stove is in use, the cutting board stores on top of the shelf which you see just to the left of the stove. The shelf is the second project." – Clare Jordan
