#30 Re: General discussion » leaking » 2018-04-27 07:22:58

I found the leak (or one of them) The po added genoa tracks but didn't drill oversized holes and add epoxy,so when the sealant went, you know what happened. Replaced the rotted core with airex, mat and fairing epoxy. Reinstalled the tracks.  <img src="emoticons/icon_smile.gif">

As I do every year,I vac out the bilge to rid the water before freezing. before I got to shrink it,we had some rain and I noticed a lot of water in the bilge again. Could not see any leaking down the bulkheads or the hull. Puzzled  Ideas would be great. Thanks in advance

Thank You so much for running this website. I would have spent thousands without it. It is always great to refer to black arts and other problem solving, and question answering articles.

I finally am running.
Persistance in removing the water in the system was the trick.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Tom
I'm in Marblehead and if you would like to have a look at the genoa tracks on Capricious youre more than welcome.
The PO installed them so I don't have any knowledge of rail sheeting.

#45 Re: General discussion » Hawse pipe » 2012-01-31 03:16:40

Thank you David and Chuck
I'm thinking of just a hawse pipe http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|10391|32295|322380&id=33090
this one has a cover on it to deep water intrusion down to a dull roar
If I could buy a triangle shape hatch close to our boat shape ,installing a locker would look more proffesional  and would go that route. Any thoughts on the hawse pipe idea?

I have a mark 3 in which I wish had an anchor locker.
Last fathers day my daughter decided to give me the gift of her presence on the boat.
About 50 yards off the mooring the A 4 died (fuel pump) and I rapidly drifted towards some expensive boats. I rushed below to grab the anchor, deployed it and was inches from going broke. I got snarled in his mooring chain but was resqued by a launch driver.
I have a clip like attachment on the bow pulpit which I now use,but the anchor rode is an issue.
Black arts was helpful and I found some hardware but not all for a hawse pipe. I sometimes have water over the bow.
Thanks in advance
Dana

There is a two prong plug above the sink in my Mark 3 and was wondering if anyone new how it was fed. It has no juice at the moment. I want to put a standard 12 volt adapter on it
Thanks
