a question about pulpit clamps

Hi
Just replacing my life lines.  To avoid taking off the whole pulpit I need to replace the clamps that hold the lifeline with a hinged clamp.  I am having a hard time finding them.  I measured them...and I don't think I am doing it right, does anyone know the diameter of the stantions on a Mk 2?  Our local store only carries 1" and 7/8ths.  Which would you choose...or do you have any better ideas!
thanks
I am a rooky!

Re: a question about pulpit clamps

Can you swage a hinge-clip to the end of the life-line when you get them and clip it to the old fitting on the pulpit?  This may prove easier and parts are readily available.
See <A href="http://www.bosunsupplies.com/products2.cfm?product=Lifelinefit">http://www.bosunsupplies.com/products2.cfm?product=Lifelinefit</A> for common fitting types.
