Sorry I don't have a puller, but I will advise not to use the hammer. Did that on mine and ended up with an alignment issue. Just curious too, what is your hull number?

I have one that is decent, but it does need some work. Can't imagine how expensive shipping would be though. Send me an email at onemoerjeff (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll send you some pics and we can discuss $$$ too if you want.

Acquire a heat gun.
Apply heat to existing name.
Peel letters off.
Apply new name lettering.
Go sailing.

To hazard a guess I would say that my spin halyard is 75'. Give or take a bit. I run mine back to the cockpit too. At the top I have some bracketery installed that keeps the spinnaker away from the genoa furler. I have it run through a cheek block at the top of the mast too.

As long as the sling isn't under the prop/shaft there really isn't much that can go wrong. It's not like they're lifting a newer Hunter.

From their website this is supposed to be their Eastern Canada contact number: 905-470-6665. They also mention that it's available in places like NAPA and Walmart but that might just be in the US.

I'm just a curious guy Brian. I think it would be interesting to know what hull number was the first to have C&C as the manufacturer instead of Hinterhoeller. My best guess is that is when the toerails are going to go right to the stern.

Quick, totally different subject, question for you Brian. How far back do the toerails go on your boat? I have hull #4 and there is teak capping on the last 6 feet and across the transom. I haven't seen that on any others though and the next oldest boat I've seen was ~#96.
Thanks,
Jeff

Paul, give me a couple days, launch is on Saturday and I'll take a couple pics of my bow roller that one of the previous owners had installed. Don't have an anchor opinion though.

I would say from about 3 feet from the transom and all the way around the stern my boat has a teak cap. It's also a Hinterhoeller and I'm not sure what number they became fully C&C. I pput a reply re halyards in your other thread the other day too. I don't remember how long mine was and had the fortune to do the job while it was horizontal. I also have a halyard restraint at the top just below the exit to keep the furler lined up nice.

Quick question for you Brian. Does your toe rail go all the way back to the transom on your boat? I'm just trying to find out what hull number is the first to do that.
Thanks,
Jeff

Sorry, but I don't know what the lengths involved are. What I did on my MK I when I changed the halyards was to take some 5/16" Warpspeed and strip the cover off of half of it. Is nice and skinny at the top where it needs to be and thick enough back at the clutch where it needs to be. My mast was down when I did it but I don't think that would be necessary. I would just attach a thin tracer to the existing jib halyard and pull it through. Make sure you tie off the other end. I would think if you stripped 30 or 31 feet it would be good. Just short of forestay length should be fine. Tape up your stripped end to the tracer and pull it though. Then splice a shackle on it.
Good Luck

If it doesn't work for Mike, I'm looking for something with a 30' luff, a #6 tape, and 13' - 15' foot.

A previous owner installed a propane locker into the aft portion of the port side of the cockpit. It is a cylindrical tube vented at the bottom out the stern of the boat. Round access plate on top. The immediately previous owner to me removed the propane stove and associated gear though so I have just used it as a cleaning supplies locker and I store the extra 1 lb bottles that aren't attached to the BBQ in there. If luck was ever to allow me to have an opportunity to spend an extended period of time on the boat away from humanity I would probably use it as a garbage locker.

Sorry, I was referring to the vent on my transom that is not presently hooked to anything.

Interesting. I'm curious if the vent on the transom was hooked to the fuel tank when the A4 was in it. There's nothing hooked to it now. Presently the tank is vented out just under the rail above the tank.

Keep in mind that Phil's rudders don't include the cost of the rudder shaft iirc. Please report back what you ended up doing and if South Shore's prices are negotiable. I ended up looking at their site and noticed they had a MK III rudder, something I'm looking for but can't justify the $$$$$ right now.

The MK I boom should be a bit longer than the MK III and possibly could be set up for roller reefing. What are the width and height measurements of your boom and I can check mine. Possibly/probably the same tube?

Any interest in disassembling, boxing up, and shipping it? I would realize that the cost would increase for that. I can be reached at: one more jeff at g mail dot com. No spaces in the email.
