I'm ready to add a spinnaker to Dauntless. Anyone have a race-worthy one for sale?

I have two sets of four new dark gray acrylic widows for sale, $250 per set (2 long cabin windows, 2 short head windows per set)
Back story... I've replaced the windows in Dauntless with new, UV resistant, dark gray cast acrylic fabricated exactly like the ones taken out (3/8", shape, edge trim, bevel, etc.). I could only get whole 4'x8' sheets of the acrylic so I have plenty of extra material to fabricate more windows (or I could ship you rough cut material for you to finish yourself).
I also have a sheet of 1/2" dark gray acrylic if you would like a new companionway or new glass for the forward hatch.
Any interest?

Thanks David W. for your advise. The Aqua Signal 5 Pin Connector) is an expensive option, but one that should look and work the best.

I would like to replace my stuffing box hose as well. Any brand/source recommendations for the ideal 4 ply hose?

Has anyone calculated the square feet of:
The deck area?
The hull topsides?
The underwater wetted surface area?
Bottom line: I'm trying to estimate how much primer and finish coat paint I'm going to need (assuming 3 coats of primer and 3 of finish).

OK, we have mast light wiring, VHF antenna wire, wind transducer wiring, etc. all coming out the cabin top at the mast step. I would prefer not to have to use four different cable clams. Does anyone have a suggestion for a more professional looking / efficient alternative?

Will do. Thanks David. I appreciate your wealth of knowledge and willingness to share.

David,
You indicated that you "replaced it with the same type" of hose. What specific type is it and where did you get it?

Has anyone replaced the locks on the cockpit lockers with a flush-mount latch/lock, such as a flush hatch dog or other alternative. What product would you recommend?

I recently actually measured the “P” dimension on my mast. From black line to black line it measured 28.5’. The confusing part is I have a Mk IV where the “P” dimension is supposed to be 31’. Please don’t tell me I have a Mk I mast on my Mk IV. What gives?

Will, Thanks for the reply. I knew to releave the compression levers but did not know 300 was the target RPM. Have you attempted to use the hand crank handle to start your 3GM? Any success?

The shaft for the hand crank has two pins making a homemade version of the hand crank more challenging. Plus, if the boat/engine originally shipped with with the factory crank handle, I assume someone might just have one laying around collecting dust. It's at least worth asking about.

Never mind... Refurbished an old "pin-stop" style whisker pole from a slightly larger boat. Certainly not "undersized" and seems to be working great. Still need a spinniker pole though...

I understand the older Yanmar 2GM's (standard on the Mk IV & V's) can be started with a crank handle if necessary. Does anyone have experience actually doing it? Posts on other sites seem to range from "very easy, no problem" to "impossible to actually do." Anyone have firsthand experience with our 27's? Anyone have a cranking handle they would like to sell?

Blew out my undersized whisker pole while teaching an intermediate adult sailing course in coastal cruising on Lake Michigan this past week onboard Dauntless. Anyone have one for a Mk III or IV for sale? I'll eventually need a spinnaker pole as well, but currently do not have a spinnaker. Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

What were the part numbers of Harken products used? I'm needing to do the same upgrade. Dauntless still has the original manual pin stop traveler.

"Dauntless" is equiped with a Schaefer 1100 Jib Reefer/Furler. The unit has performed very well even when needing to furl/reef the genoa in 35-40 mph wind conditions. Access to the headstay turnbuckle for rig adjustments requires the removal of the drum, but the process is reasonably easy. If you want to consider something other than Harken, the Schaefer unit merits a look. http://www.furling.com/overview.html

Per a previous post... I bit the bullet and ordered a new ADX-210 transducer from DMI Marine...
Does anyone have an operator's manual for the CD400 Depth Sounder unit? The boat did not come with one and a replacement manual appears to be nonexistent. Access to a .pdf would sure be nice. If not, could someone walk me through the various setup routines?

Having just spent more than desired to repair the head unit (internal short kept blowing fuse), the depth sounder is still not working due to, now, a non-functioning transducer.
Anyone have a working transducer available? I believe the specific part is ADX-210 or maybe DX-111 (nylon thru hull, 200kHZ).

Glad we've solved the eyebolt question...
I've also pinged Whale Water Systems. They basically say I'm out of luck. However, they are checking to see if they have any old mk. II valve plates somewhere at their manufacturing facility in Ireland (but I doubt it). If they are unsuccessful, I hope they will at least send me the engineering drawings of the part so I can accurately fabricate another myself.
I've already paid $50 for the service kit; I'm trying to keep this fix as inexpensive as possible.
Mike, thanks for the ebay lead, that was going to be my "plan B" if no one in our 27 community had one they weren't using. We don't have too many flea markets with sailboat parts here in Indianapolis. Because they were standard equipment on many of our 27's, I thought the best first place to start would be here. :-)
